Eureka Math- Our new math curriculum!
We are excited to announce that we have adopted Eureka Math as the tool to move your child closer to mastery of the Common Core State Standards. To learn more about Eureka Math/Engage NY, please visit www.engageny.org and check out the parents and families tab. There is a wealth of information here!
Eureka Math Workbook and Math Notebook
Your child’s main resources will be his/her Eureka Math Workbook and the math notebook that will go into a composition notebook. You will always be able to find notes, examples, and vocabulary. We will use it everyday. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOUR CHILD HAS HIS/HER WORKBOOK AND NOTEBOOK EVERYDAY IN CLASS. IT WILL BE THE MOST USEFUL RESOURCE THAT YOUR CHILD HAS FOR MATH THIS YEAR.
Math Text Blasts
Please sign up for math text blasts. You will receive important information about upcoming math events. One-on-one texting is also a way that we can stay in touch. It’s easy! Here are the steps:

- Pencils ANY MATH WRITTEN IN INK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
- One composition notebook (This notebook must be kept for math only)!
- Calculator
- Colored Pencils or Markers

- Develop a deeper understanding of polygons, angles, and the construction of shapes
- Explore the relationship between positive and negative rational numbers and use them in real-life contexts
- Use ratios, rates, and percents in real-life contexts
- Understand proportionality (part-to-part relationships and part-to-whole relationships)
- Explore basic probability concepts and build probability models
