Welcome to the 7th Grade Warriors' Website!
2017-2018
Welcome back!! We are so happy to have you back to school! Take this opportunity to learn a little about your teachers this year!
Mr. Frazee
Welcome to a new school year!!! My name is Ryan Frazee and I will be your child’s social studies teacher this year. To give you a little bit of information about me. I was born and raised in Westerville, Ohio. When I was growing up my favorite sport was baseball. I eventually became an all-state shortstop in high school in Ohio due to my hard work. I eventually signed a scholarship with the University of Akron where I received my degree in Education with a minor in History. I graduated from The University in 2010 and have been teaching in Michigan since I graduated. In the class that I will be teaching this year we will be covering a lot of information and history within a short time frame. The class focuses on early world history and geography with a focus on content literacy. Students will begin their exploration with a focus on historical thinking. What that means is thinking like a historian. Students will learn that historians must have evidence to support the claims they make in their accounts. Students will also investigate human history from the beginning to around 1500 CE. They will be exploring major and significant changes in each era through a chronological organization. Students will explore early migration and settlement patterns and study the origins of farming and its impact on human cultures. Students will analyze evidence such as artifacts, photographs, and geographic information. Students will also study world religions and development of empires in the Americas as well as the rise and fall of empires, as well as the nomadic groups in Afro-Eurasia.
Unit 1 – An introduction to World History
Unit 2 – Beginning of Human Societies
Unit 3 – Early Civilizations and Pastoral Peoples
Unit 4 – The Rise of Classical Empires
Unit 5 – Interactions, The Fall of Empires
Unit 6 – Patterns of Adaptation Reorganized
Unit 7 – Converging Patterns 1000CE – 1450 CE

Mrs. Golson
Hello Guardians and Students!
My name is Mrs. Monica Golson and I am entering my tenth year here at PACE Academy. I taught 6th grade math for three years and this is my seventh year teaching 7th grade math. I hail from Flint, Michigan and I graduated from the University of Michigan in Flint. Some of the things I enjoy are spending time with my family and friends, and working on craft and cooking projects. I have three beautiful and energetic daughters, Imani (5 years old) and Maya (3 years old), and Nia (1 year old). I have been married to my husband Ray for 6 years.
Some of the big ideas that you will see in seventh grade mathematics this year are fluently working with rational numbers and understanding proportions and proportional reasoning. We will also be working on enhancing the seventh graders previous understandings of algebra, geometry, and data and probability.
To know what we will be working on specifically at any given time, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. Check out my website www.mathwithgolson.weebly.com. Also, sign up for math text blasts by texting @07golson to 81010.

Mrs. Hale
Greetings PACE Families,
My name is Sharon Hale and I’m the 7th Grade ELA Teacher. I graduated from
Marygrove College with a Masters of Education in English. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University. I have two daughters, Natasha 27, and Alora 20. I’ve been teaching for ten years and this is my 6th year at PACE Academy. I was married in December 2014 to my husband Derrick and I have step-son, Derrick Jr., 24. In my spare time I enjoy playing sports, spending quality time with my family, reading, bowling, photography, and scrapbooking.
This year in ELA we will be working diligently on various forms of writing. In addition, we will
be reading three selected novels that will focus on different genres. The curriculum is designed so that students will gain a deeper understanding of the components and structure of the English language and strengthening reading comprehension. I’m looking forward to a exciting and productive school year.
